A charity event is a fundraiser held specifically for the purpose of raising money
for a specific cause. In order to make the event charitable, guests are required
to pay for their tickets to the event whether they were invited or not. The differences
between a charity event and a regular event are:
Some charity events will only invite a certain number of people and then allow the
rest of the tickets to be released and purchased by the public. Tickets can usually
be purchased ahead of time for a reduced price and then also at the door. Some charity
events, such as a benefit concert, are in such high demand that the tickets will
be sold immediately to raise money. If a charity event does not require guests to
purchase tickets to the event, then they will offer some sort of raffle opportunity
or ask for a donation.
